Tyvek is a strong, lightweight, made from synthetic fibers. It looks and feels like paper but is much tougher and doesn’t tear easily.
Tyvek paper offers a unique experience for painters, unlike traditional paper. Its surface feels smooth and strong, and because it’s not very absorbent, your paint sits on top, allowing for more vibrant colors. You’ll need to work in layers, as the paint doesn’t soak in immediately. This creates opportunities for building depth and texture in ways that aren’t possible with regular paper. Painting on Tyvek feels more like a process of discovery—each layer adds something new and unexpected!
