Gasoline

A selection of press photos, taken between 1944 and 1995, from Gasoline Stations and bought on the internet. All but one from spots in the U.S.A. In the book first the images are shown and then the back of all the photos are also reproduced, with their stamps and handwritten remarks. In the middle a conversation between David CAMPANY and George Kaplan: ‘…that photographs don’t have meanings: they have the potential for meaning. It’s how they’re used. Press photos are a clear example of this”(CAMPANY). Artists’ book.
