First edition. tipped-in 9 square little color plates (65 x 65 mm.) with reproductions of paintings. Early work. Text by Edouard Roditi. A few years after this exhibition in the Netherlands he was imprisoned by the apartheid regime in South-Africa, the country where he was born. Released due to international pressure he returned to Paris. BREYTENBACH was later also known for his poetry. This copy with a lossely laid-in photo “of the artist as a young man”.
