A new album as a collection.
Rariteitenkabinet marks a new chapter in the work of Duvel, bringing together 15 new tracks produced by RayTheBarbarian and Ballantyne Beats.
Typically atypical Duvel: sharp lyrics, dry humour and unexpected turns, moving between personal history and social commentary. The record shifts freely between classic hardcore hip hop and influences from other genres, assembled like a carefully curated cabinet of curiosities. Part of the album was first heard in the Rariteitenkabinet installation, presented in the exhibition Hip Hop Is at the Groninger Museum.
The language is Dutch. The impact is not. It’s music that may not translate, but it resonates, vibrates and hits the gut all the same.
Where stories are usually published on paper, they take shape here in vinyl. Ruyzdael Publishing is the publisher.
Limited edition vinyl and a special edition.
380-gram outer sleeve and 200-gram inner sleeve, both printed in four Pantone colours. That’s heavy.
The special edition sleeves are printed in one colour, with the other three colours added by hand. Each copy is signed and numbered 1–100.
Because of this hands-on process, every copy of the special edition is unique. Sleeve design, as ever, by UNDOG.
