In this course, students won’t just learn how to draw, They will learn how to see. Each drawing is approached through a traditional Japanese lens, honoring not only technique but the intention and spirit behind the subject.
Basic
Build a strong foundation in Japanese drawing. You’ll study structure, form, balance, and composition through traditional subjects: flowers, dragons, snakes, koi fish, tigers, mythical creatures, and more. Each subject teaches you something new about line, space and the structure behind Japanese art.

Everything in Basic, plus extra painting and material module.
You’ll learn which traditional Japanese materials to use, how to work on washi paper, how to prepare and treat the surface, and step-by-step methods for creating authentic Japanese sumi dragon painting using traditional techniques. Ideal if you want to bring your drawings to life with ink, color, and texture.
