Beginning with fun hand claps and snaps, “Rhythm Cell” uses a combination of the Cuban cinquillo and Brazilian influences to make an intriguing work for younger ensembles.
Instrumentation:
Glockenspiel (may be doubled on Vibraphone)
Xylophone (may be played on Marimba or Vibraphone 8va)
Marimba [4-octave] (may be played on Vibraphone)
Timpani (optional) [3 drums]
Claves (may substitute Woodblock)
Tambourine/Shaker
High Tom (may substitute Snare Drum w/ snares off)
Bass Drum (may substitute Low Tom)
