The Little Bee Charmer of Henrietta Street by Sarah Webb

When their father’s watch-making business fails, Eliza and Johnnie Donegan move to a tenement flat in Dublin city, number 14 Henrietta Street. At first they see it as a new adventure, but after a few days of noise and chaos the novelty of living on top of seventeen other families quickly wears off. One day they hear a commotion on Rutland Square. What they see sets their hearts racing: dancing horses, brightly-dressed clowns, and a strange-looking girl in a sparkling silver leotard. The circus! And most thrilling of all, a tiny woman sitting on a white charger with a swarm of bees covering her arms and face, Ada James, the world’s most famous bee charmer. A woman who needs a new assistant for her bees. A woman who is about to change Eliza and Johnnie’s lives forever.
